iPhonograph wins ‘Waste to Art’ competition
The iPhonograph was entered into the Blue Mountains ‘Waste to Art’ competition held in the Braemar Gallery, Springwood, Blue Mountains, Australia and won First Prize in the Community Functional 3D category! My thanks goes out to the Blue Mountains City Council who runs our city of villages inside the incomparable World Heritage Area in which we live. It is fantastic to see local government taking a lead step in encouraging both art AND sustainability in this way.
First Prize included a certificate, 6 designer cup cakes and a Voucher (for 2) to dine at any restaurant of our choosing! Needless to say, I was stoked. This is all thanks to my partner, Lisa, who entered the ‘iPhonograph’ into this competition.
And…there’s a next stage! All winners from ‘Waste to Art’ competitions run by each Council in New South Wales are then exhibited in a regional gallery. The regional winners are then selected in each category. It’s a bit nail-biting to be up against a whole bunch of winners from all the Council areas in our region, but what do I have to lose? Nothing.
Needless to say I have a lot of projects to finish – I will keep you updated on those and how the ‘iPhonograph’ goes at the SIMS Metal Regional ‘Waste to Art’ competition.
